FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is your process for creating your works?

You can learn about this by visiting my Studio & Process page. I talk about my process on Instagram too, so make sure you follow me there!

What are giclée prints?

Giclée (pronounced “zhee-KLAY”) is a French term meaning “to spray”. It references the process that a special inkjet printer uses to reproduce fine art. It’s important to note that not all inkjet prints are giclée prints.

My giclée prints are done by a graphic professional who also handles the scanning process, ensuring a high-quality capture that preserves the colour and detail of the original artwork (it’s hard to even tell the two apart).

You can expect archival-quality (also known as “museum-quality”) reproductions printed with fade-resistant pigment inks on 100% cotton, acid-free, smooth, matte, heavyweight paper.

Why don’t you sell originals?

Pressed flowers fade significantly over time, especially when exposed to light, and become more fragile. Giclée prints preserve the colour and detail of the pressed flowers but don’t start to degrade for at least 80 years! Having said that, originals have their own beauty too, even when faded, so I may consider selling them in the future. If you’re interested, let me know!

Do you sell framed prints?

I don’t, but I can recommend two styles I like: thin matte black metal frames for my specimens and slightly thicker natural wood (often called “white oak”) for my compositions. An affordable Canadian frame seller I like is Opposite Wall.

My pieces are also designed to look good with or without mats (though mats can certainly elevate the look of the prints).

What sizes do your prints come in?

Currently, prints are available in 8″x10″ and 11″x17″ sizes. In the future, there’ll be 5″x7″ and 18″x24″ prints as well. These are all standard sizes so that custom framing isn’t necessary.

Please note that, at present, each individual work only comes in one size so that it remains true to scale.

How often do you release new collections?

My goal right now is to release a new collection every season or two.

If I want to buy a print as a gift can you wrap it?

I've taken packaging of the prints into careful consideration so, whether the print is for you or someone else, I want it to feel like a gift arriving in the mail. You’ll find that my packaging is both eco-friendly and aesthetically pleasing—and a bit more special than you might expect.

If you’d like a hand-written gift card to be included at no extra charge you can say so at checkout.

Do you sell gift cards?

Yes! Please get in touch with me if you’re interested in purchasing one.

Do you do commissions?

I’m willing to consider it! If you have something in mind, please get in touch.
